Arduino is an open-source microcontroller based on a simple i/o board and a development environment that implements the Processing/Wiring language. Arduino can be used as an embedded computer to make anything work the way you want it to or it can be connected to software on your computer (e.g. Flash, Processing, MaxMSP). The open-source IDE (Integrated Development Environment) can be downloaded for free (available for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux). Arduino Leonardo with Headers is optimized for use in robotics applications or as a controller for LEDs and other electronics. Arduino Leonardo is perfect for artists incorporating electronics or robotics into their art and for fashion designers who are experimenting with adding electronics to clothing. Many resources are available for Arduino on the internet at no cost. Prototyping accessories can be purchased from our web store. Datasheet is available from us or on the internet. Please consult the datasheet before hooking up your own circuit. Leonardo differs from Uno in that its serial functions are performed in software to save cost. If your application is very high speed, Leonardo may not be the best choice.
